Active and Absent Nudes

Active and Absent Nudes

During lockdown, limited to working in our Dining Room, between home school duties, I painted myself. How to respond to the nude, within the context of art history, being a woman and an artist. I chose to paint my self, active and absent.

What my collectors are saying..

"Michelle, your paintings make me seriously happy! and add a rich dimension to my life." SL London

"What I love about Fierce Transition is that it throbs with life, exploding with colour and form. After the shock of first seeing it, gradually it reveals more: more depth, more relationships, more colours. You feel the courage in the juxtaposition of tones and shades.

For me Fierce Transition is resonant of being at the edge of a tropical forest in all its exuberance, apparent chaos, and variety of living things.

Whenever I see [Fierce Transition] I feel more alive". William Eccles, London
